Road Conditions.

The roads from Yass and Canberra are suitable for all vehicles. If you are travelling from Tumut please check road conditions and be mindful that from Tumut roads are about 65% unsealed and can be narrow – they are also frequented by large trucks associated with numerous hardwood & pine plantations in the surrounding area. The Tumut road is not recommended for caravans, long vehicles or low vehicles. If you have any concerns about this road please contact the Yass or Tumut Information Centres.

Getting to Wee Jasper is a lot easier than it used to be. Wee Jasper was a stopover in the early days from Kiandra goldfields to Yass and Sydney – a treacherous journey over steep hills on narrow tracks.
